Vertical CNC Machine Operator (JN -122024-385165)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to join our clients plastic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality plastic components. You will ensure machines run efficiently, maintain quality standards, and follow safety protocols.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Duration: 3-month temporary position

Pay Rate: $27/hr

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup and Operation:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines according to production specifications.
  • Load raw plastic materials and select appropriate tools and fixtures.
  • Perform machine calibration, adjustments, and testing before production.

Programming and Troubleshooting:

  • Program CNC machines using G-code or related programming languages.
  • Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine errors or malfunctions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent quality output.
  • Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Maintain detailed records of production runs and inspection results.

Maintenance and Safety:

  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication.
  • Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator, preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and understanding of G-code.
  • Knowledge of plastic materials and machining properties.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality assurance processes.
  • Basic math skills and understanding of geometric tolerances.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC operation is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC machine operation, preferably in plastic manufacturing.

Work Environment:

  • Work in a production facility with exposure to noise, heat, and plastic materials.
  • Standing, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
