Job Description
Middle School Physical Education Teacher
The Harpeth Hall School seeks a Middle School Physical Education Teacher. The ideal candidate is a student-centered, creative PE educator who is enthusiastic about working with middle school girls and is committed to innovative pedagogy and collaboration with colleagues. Excellent writing and communication skills are a requirement of this role.

Experience teaching and coaching grades 5-8 physical education classes and competitive athletic teams is preferred, as is an interest in curriculum development. Candidates with three or more years of full-time teaching experience and a master’s degree will be given priority. A bachelor’s degree is required, as is a willingness to engage in additional certifications or trainings, as the need arises.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Develop and execute lessons for multiple levels of physical education courses that correspond with the school’s curriculum.
● Monitor, assess, and document student growth and skill development.
● Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes lifelong healthy habits and teamwork.
● Serve as advisor to a small group of middle school students.
● Coach one or more teams through Harpeth Hall Athletics.
● Participate in / facilitate extracurricular activities and community-building events.
