We are seeking a skilledcloudflareengineer to design,optimizeandmaintainour global edge network and security configurations. In this role you will work closely with infrastructure and security teams to ensure our applications are fast, secure,resilientandhighly available. You willbe responsible formanagingcloudflareservices including CDN, WAF, Workers, Load Balancing and DNS

***This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL (T, W, TH)***

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain Cloudflare services such as CDN, WAF, Bot Management, Rate Limiting, Access, Argo, Load Balancing and SSL/TLS

• Manage Cloudflare DNS, including advanced routing and failover configurations

• Implement and optimize performance features such as caching rules and network optimizations

• Monitor and tune WAF rules, security events,firewallpoliciesand bot mitigation strategies

• Collaborate with the security team to address threats, perform incidentresponseand enhance security posture.

• Build andmaintaininfrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions forcloudflareusing Terraform, API scripting or CI/CD pipelines

• Automate monitoring, reporting and configuration tasks

• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting across the edge network

• Provide documentation,trainingand guidance on Cloudflare tooling and architecture

• Monitor and troubleshoot Cloudflare-related issueimpacingperformance, latency,routingor security

• Bachelors degree in relevant field and at least 5 years relevant experience OR Masters degree in relevant field and at least 4 years experience.

• 2-5 years of experience working with Cloudflare or similar edge/CDN platforms

• Experience with automation andIaCtools (terraform preferred)

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Strong troubleshootingand analytical skills

• Strong understanding of:

  • HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, caching strategies
  • DNS, networking, and routing concepts
  • Web security fundamentals (WAF rules, DDoS mitigation)
