Job Description
This role can be based out of either our Mettawa, IL or Irvine, CA office locations. Responsible for innovation and pipeline strategy for the Global OTC Eye Care portfolio. Develop market-driven long-range plan to maintain category leadership and drive continued portfolio growth. Collaborate with cross functional partners to drive commercialization efforts and provide OTC thought leadership to provide strategic alignment and optimize business impact. Responsibilities - Lead the development of the LRP and long-term innovation plans including product strategy and portfolio optimization activities.
- Identify growth opportunity areas, develop, and validate concepts with consumers, and create business plans to support innovation.
- Develop strong understanding of OUS markets and collaborate with OUS affiliates to drive long term global innovation strategy.
- Commercial lead on cross-functional teams to provide marketing and brand SME support to upstream product development activities.
- Work with cross-functional commercialization teams to ensure successful launch of new products and the supporting promotional plans.
- Drive OTC governance structure to enable speed-to-market.
- Lead global OTC sustainability task force to position AbbVieas an industry leader in sustainability.
- Actively participate in leadership meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree required.
- Proven marketing experience with increased proficiency in all marketing skills.
- Previous cross franchise/cross channel marketing experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications - BS/BA, MBA preferred
- 7-10 years of brand management or product management experience, category management or buying experience is a plus
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong analytical ability and experience using syndicated data
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including clear presentation of technical and analytical information to various management levels and external parties.
- Proven leadership ability and ability to influence through others
- High standards for professional conduct with the ability to prioritize, execute multiple critical issues concurrently, make difficult decisions, deal quickly and effectively with change, and constructively confront and resolve conflict
- Track record of meeting or exceeding commercial targets and working effectively in complex environments
- Superior organization, project management, marketing planning and strategic development skills
